Perfect Fit Blinds in York – No Drilling Required

Perfect Fit blinds clip straight into the frame of a uPVC window or door, so nothing is drilled, screwed or fixed into your woodwork. The blind sits flush against the glass in its own slim frame, moves with the window when you open it, and leaves no marks if you ever take it out. At Inspired Shutters we fit Perfect Fit blinds throughout York, Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Easingwold and across North Yorkshire, backed by more than 30 years in the trade.

They have become one of our most requested systems, particularly for conservatories, rented homes and families with young children.

How Perfect Fit Blinds Work

The blind is built into a lightweight frame sized precisely to your window. Small clips push into the rubber gasket that runs between the glass and the uPVC bead, and the frame is held securely in place by those clips alone. There is no drilling, no adhesive and no damage to the window.

Because the frame is fixed to the window rather than the wall, the blind travels with the sash. A tilt-and-turn window still tilts, a top-opener still opens, and a patio or bifold door still slides, all with the blind in place and no fabric flapping loose.

Blind Types Available as Perfect Fit

Perfect Fit is a mounting system rather than a single product, so you still choose the blind itself:

  • Perfect Fit pleated blinds: The most popular choice, with a huge fabric range including blackout and solar-reflective finishes.
  • Perfect Fit cellular blinds: Honeycomb fabric that traps a layer of air for the best thermal performance in the range.
  • Perfect Fit venetian blinds: Aluminium or faux wood slats giving precise, tiltable light control. See our venetian blinds page for the full slat options.
  • Perfect Fit roller blinds: A clean, flat fabric finish in blackout, dim-out or sunscreen. More detail on our roller blinds page.

Where Perfect Fit Blinds Work Best

Perfect Fit solves a specific set of problems, and it solves them well:

  • Conservatories and orangeries: Every pane can be dressed individually, and pleated or cellular fabrics help with the heat. See our conservatory blinds page for full shading options including roof blinds.
  • Tilt-and-turn windows: The blind moves with the sash, so the window works exactly as intended.
  • Patio, French and bifold doors: No trailing cords or blinds swinging as the door moves.
  • Rented properties: Nothing is drilled, so there is no damage to make good when you leave.
  • Listed and period properties: Where you have uPVC secondary units and cannot fix into the surrounding fabric.
  • Nurseries and children's rooms: No cords or chains anywhere on the blind.

Frame Colours and Finishes

The Perfect Fit frame is available in a range of colours so it can be matched to your window rather than standing out against it. White, anthracite grey, black, cream, oak and rosewood woodgrain finishes are all available, which matters on coloured or foiled uPVC where a plain white frame would look out of place.

Child and Pet Safety

Perfect Fit blinds have no operating cords or chains at all. The blind is adjusted with a small handle or slider on the frame itself, which means there is no looped cord to present a hazard. They meet current UK child safety regulations by design rather than by adding tensioners, and are among the safest window coverings we install.

Why Choose Inspired Shutters for Perfect Fit Blinds in York?

Perfect Fit depends entirely on accurate measuring and on the frame being genuinely suitable, which is why we always survey in person before quoting. If your windows are not right for the system we will tell you so and suggest an alternative rather than fitting something that will not sit properly. Mark and Heather carry out every survey and installation themselves, as our reviews and recent work show.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Perfect Fit blinds damage my window frames?

No. The frame clips grip the rubber gasket between the glass and the uPVC, so nothing is drilled or screwed into the window. The blinds can be removed later with no trace, which is why they suit rented and listed properties.

Will Perfect Fit blinds work on wooden or aluminium windows?

Perfect Fit is designed for uPVC and some aluminium systems that have a suitable rubber gasket. Traditional timber windows usually do not have the right beading, so we would recommend a conventional recess-fitted blind instead. We will confirm at the free survey.

Can I still open and tilt my windows?

Yes, and that is the main advantage. Because the blind is held in the frame it moves with the window, so tilt-and-turn windows, top-openers and patio or bifold doors all still function normally with the blind in place.

Are Perfect Fit blinds child safe?

Yes. Perfect Fit blinds have no loose cords or hanging chains at all, as the blind is operated by a small handle or slider on the frame. That makes them one of the safest options for nurseries, children's bedrooms and playrooms.

What blind types are available as Perfect Fit?

We supply Perfect Fit in roller, venetian, pleated and cellular styles. Pleated and cellular are the most popular for conservatories because of their thermal performance, while venetian gives the most precise light control.

Do Perfect Fit blinds suit conservatories?

They are one of the best options for a conservatory. The blind sits flush in each frame, follows the window when it opens, and cellular or pleated fabrics add useful insulation to what is often the hottest and coldest room in the house.
